SURPAC - Pit
Optimization Module available with Vision 5.0
Now available within Surpac Vision 5.0, mine planning professionals are able
to conduct pit optimization on-site. Important benefits for the user include
setting up production costs and revenues for different zones of the ore body.
The pit optimizer can facilitate the sound assessment of economic potential for
newly drilled projects and it also leads to the update of mine plans as new
economic and geological information become available. Modeling of potential
pit-wall pushbacks is made easy by considering ìwhat if î scenarios to
mitigate economic risks.
Features include:
- Set up production and mining cost parameters for different zones of the
orebody model.
- A solution engine that operates directly on the block model.
- Output discount factor and nested pit number back into the block model and
generate DTM surfaces of each pit shell.
Analysis is done using the Lerch Grossman algorithm or a floating cone
algorithm. To find out more e-mail ssican@surpac.com.
